NEWFIELD, Maine (AP) — Maine law enforcement officials are investigating a possible methamphetamine lab in Newfield.
Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland said Tuesday that deputies from the York County Sheriff’s office saw products commonly used to make methamphetamine outside a Newfield mobile home on Monday.
The deputies were seeking to serve civil paperwork to a resident who wasn’t there at the time.
Maine Drug Enforcement Agents returned on Tuesday to present a search warrant at the home. McCausland says suspects have been identified, but no changes have been filed.
He says the Newfield Fire Department and Maine Department of Environmental Protection are helping with the investigation.
The incident is the 13th suspected meth lab that agents have responded to this year.
