Potato Truck Spills Load in Richmond 

A tractor-trailer full of potatoes crashed on the Interstate in Richmond Tuesday night.

The driver told State Police he swerved to avoid a moose.

The call came in around 10:45 p.m.

According to State police, the truck went off the median side, travelling several hundred feet before hitting a crossover embankment and coming to rest on the other side.

The impact caused the box portion of the big rig to split in half, spilling the potatoes.

The driver from Massachusetts, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The truck was coming from Northern Maine on its way to Connecticut.
