A family in Searsmont escaped their burning home early Thursday morning, by climbing out a second story window.
When crews arrived on Woodmans Mill Road around 12:30 a.n., they say the house was engulfed in flames.
The couple and child were checked out by an ambulance crew on scene, and are reported to be OK.
Fire fighters spent seven hours on scene. They say the home’s metal roof made it difficult to contain the flames.
Investigators will try and determine a cause.
