Letter Carriers “Stamp Out Hunger”

Mail Carriers were collecting more than mail Saturday, and after their day, they’ll deliver more than mail as well.

The National Association of Letter Carriers ran their 22nd annual ‘Stamp Out Hunger’ food drive, along with the United Way of Eastern Maine and AARP. People were encouraged to set food out for postal carriers to collect.

This is the largest one-day food drive in the country.

The food is distributed locally to help feed hungry families in the community.

It’s really too bad that the Postal Service didn’t let anyone know that Saturday was the “Stamp Out Hunger” food drive by putting the mailers in our boxes.
