A UMaine hockey player is in trouble with the law.
Ryan Lomberg, a sophomore on the UMaine hockey team has been charged with assault by Orono Police.
Lomberg reportedly had a confrontation with another male at a party on the night of April 26th.
One male was knocked to the floor, kicked to the head and midsection. That student was given a broken nose and suffered a concussion.
Multiple witnesses were interviewed by Orono Police and Lomberg was ultimately charged last night with assault and disorderly conduct.
The sophomore forward scored 11 goals last season… the third most on the team. He had the most penalty minutes on the team last season and had been suspended for one game by the league for throwing an elbow during a game.
A court date has been scheduled for June 19th.
