Nine Airports to Split $2.1M from Federal Government

Nine airports in Maine will be splitting $2.1 million from the federal government.

The money comes from the U.S. Department of Transportation.

Maine Senators Susan Collins and Angus King say almost half of it will go to Knox County Regional Airport in Owls Head.

Part of the money will pay to make the building for snow removal equipment bigger, the rest will help get rid of obstructions near a runway.

Bangor’s airport is getting $800,000 to rebuild an access road.
