From the WABI-TV5 & CW Forecast Center:
High pressure will slowly slip off to our east today and that will allow clouds to gradually build back into our region after a partly sunny start. High temps today will likely climb into the mid 50s at the coastline and into the low 60s over most of interior Maine with the warmest temps being found over northern parts of the state where highs could reach up into the mid 60s. Showers ahead of an approaching warm front may move into western parts of Maine this afternoon, but the bulk of the showers will likely hold off until tonight and Saturday.
A storm moving east from Ontario into Quebec will push the warm front through New England Saturday. The warm front will produce occasional showers throughout Maine as it crosses the Pine Tree State. If the warm front slides through Maine during the morning hours the afternoon temps will likely climb into the mid 60s to near 70, otherwise temps will hold in the 50s to low 60s. A trailing cold front will keep the risk of showers going across our region Saturday evening, but most of the showers will end later in the evening when the cold front slips off to our east.
Mother’s day will likely become partly sunny, with a west to southwest breeze on the backside of the departing storm allowing temps to climb into mid 60s to mid 70s across the Pine Tree State. Monday will likely turn out partly cloudy and mild, with a round of scattered showers likely popping up as a cold front approaches New England from the north. If the cold front to our north slips south through Maine earlier in the day than is currently expected temperatures will not be as mild as currently forecasted.
Today: Partly sunny then increasing clouds, with a few late day showers possible and high temps in the mid 50s to mid 60s.
Saturday: Mostly cloudy, with occasional showers likely and high temps in the 60s.
Sunday: Partly sunny and mild, with widely scattered showers possible and high temps in the mid 60s to low 70s from north to south.
Monday: Partly cloudy, with possible scattered showers and high temps in the 60s to low 70s.
Tuesday: Variably cloudy, few scattered showers possible and high temps in the 60s to near 70.
