The first true signs of spring came out at the Bangor Farmer’s Market, Sunday.
It was the opening day for the market. It meets every Sunday from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on Harlow Street, across from the Bangor Library.
Farmers start off the season with fresh greens, organic meats, breads and dairy products. Later on we’ll see a bounty of fresh Maine vegetables and fruits.
Farmers say the market is also a community gathering place.
“It provides a really great outlet for local farmers to bring fresh food, some of the best food in the world to the people that live in Bangor. We have folks that walk here after church, or walk here from their apartments. We have families that come and socialize and see old friends,” said Clayton Carter, Market Chairman and Farmer with Fail Better Farms.
