A check of a dorm room on the Maine Maritime Academy campus Tuesday afternoon led to an evacuation of the Curtis Hall dormitory.
During the routine check of a room that was going to be empty for the summer, school officials say a suspicious package was found.
Multiple police agencies were called to the school in Castine.
A K-9 unit inspected the area as an extra precaution.
A little after 11 Tuesday night, authorities deemed the building safe and allowed the students back in the dorm.
The investigation continues, no word on what was inside the package.
