From the WABI-TV5 & CW Forecast Center:
High pressure will continue to control our weather today as it slowly drifts southeast into the Gulf of Maine. Once again temps will be coolest along the shoreline today due to an onshore breeze. Temps this afternoon will range from the mid to upper 40s along the Maine coastline to the 50s inland, with the mildest readings being found up north due to skies remaining mostly clear the longest.
Clouds will be on the increase across our region this afternoon as the powerful storm that produced all the severe weather in the middle of the country the past few days continues to slowly move in our direction. The storm will bring periods of rain to Maine beginning later tonight and continuing through Thursday. An onshore breeze along with the rainfall will keep temps running below normal Thursday and that will preclude our region from seeing any severe storms. Skies will partially clear Friday as the storm gradually moves off to our east, but the atmosphere will still be unstable enough to cause a few scattered showers to pop up across Maine. A westerly breeze on Friday will bring milder conditions to our region as high temps range from the mid 50s to mid 60s from north to south across the Pine Tree State.
Skies across Maine will once again feature clouds and some limited sun Saturday due to a storm moving east across Quebec. The storm may kick off some scattered showers in our region as we start the weekend, with the bulk of the showers being found across northern parts of our area. Temps Saturday will be rather seasonable as highs range from the mid 50s north to the low 60s in the Bangor Region. Another strong storm aloft will rotate into the northeast later Sunday and Monday and bring another round of showers and cooler than normal temps to New England. High pressure both at the surface and aloft building along the Mid-Atlantic Coastline later next week will finally bring some milder conditions into the Northeast.
