Scam Asks You to Pay DMV Fines or Be Arrested

Another phone scam to warn you about…this time the caller claims to be from the Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

The Attorney General’s office says the caller demands a fee be paid immediately by phone or risk arrest or license suspension.

Officials say this call does not come from the state.

They say that at no time will a court or government agency demand cash payment by phone.

If you get a call like this you should hang up.

To contact the Bureau of Motor Vehicles call 624-9000.
