From the WABI-TV5 & CW Forecast Center:
Weak high pressure will build back into our region today bringing partly to mostly sunny skies to our region later this morning through the early evening hours, with temps running a bit above normal as highs climb into the 50s to near 60 throughout the Pine Tree State.
A small storm riding across Quebec will pull a front south through Maine this evening. Another storm will ride east along the front Sunday and bring clouds, occasional showers and cooler temps to Northern New England. An onshore breeze across Maine Sunday will likely hold temps in the mid 40s north to the mid 50s south. The steadiest showers Sunday will likely fall over northern parts of Maine, with very little in the way of shower activity occurring south of the Augusta region.
The combination of high pressure building off the East Coast and a storm riding north up to the west of New England will bring an increasing southerly breeze to Maine Monday. The southerly wind will help usher milder air into New England for the beginning of the workweek, with much of Maine likely climbing into the mid 60s to low 70s. A slow moving cold front approaching New England from the west will bring an increased risk of showers and possible scattered thundershowers to Maine Tuesday, with chillier air building back into our region Wednesday. High pressure building south out of southern Canada will bring fair and rather chilly conditions to all of New England Thursday.
