Kids were able to see that Nano sciences are more than meets the eye.
The Discovery Museum museum set up hands-on displays to help kids understand small particles.
Volunteers from UMaine helped with the project.
The different features helped celebrate “NanoDays.”
“Most people have no idea what nano science is,” explains Trudi Plummer, Director of Education at the museum. “There is a lot of research at the University of Maine in Orono, So we have it right in our background and we have a lot of hands-on activities to show kids what nano science is, what nano science does and what you can do with this technology.”
NanoDays is not exclusive to Bangor – it’s celebrated nationwide to expose children to nanotechnology.
