The Grand in Ellsworth will be home to a first-ever live game show this weekend — it’s a fundraiser for the theatre called “So You Think You Know Ellsworth?”
It’ll be hosted by radio DJ Stu Marckoon.
“The Grand is really dedicated to being the community’s theatre, and we wanted an event that would bring the community in, and the community could also participate in,” said Gail Thompason, Executive Director at the Grand.
So they decided on an interactive game show featuring some local celebrities.
“It’s a little bit of Jeopardy, a little bit of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire,” said Gail.
This Saturday, four teams from around the city of Ellsworth will take this stage and match wits about Ellsworth history.
Questions come from Ellsworth historian Darlene Springer.
The teams are as follows:
“Two In and One Out” led by Jim Pendergist, owner of Northern Northeast Associates
“Dewey Does Ellsworth” led by Charlene Churchill, director at the Ellsworth Public Library
“Two Men and a Lady” led by Stephen Fay, editor at the Ellsworth American
“City Servants” led by Detective Dotty Small of the Ellsworth Police Department
We’re told audience participation will be part of it too.
The show is Saturday night at seven.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $12 for kids 12 and under.
