From the WABI-TV5 & CW Forecast Center:
High pressure along the Mid-Atlantic coastline will bring fair and pleasant weather to our region today as it continues to slip off towards the east. High temps today will reach the upper 40s to mid 50s from north to south, with an afternoon seabreeze cooling the temps a bit along the shoreline. As the high moves off to our east clouds ahead of our next storm system will begin to invade our area later this afternoon and evening. The next storm will move from the Tennessee River Valley this evening up into southwestern Quebec Tuesday evening. Maine will be on the milder side of the storm as it passes up to our west and that means most if not all the precipitation will fall as rain across our region later tonight and part of Tuesday. Rainfall will likely range from .50″ to 1.5″ across our area and that along with melting snow could lead to some localized flooding, especially near streams and rivers. Stay tuned to the latest forecast regarding possible flooding. A gusty southerly wind will pull a rather mild airmass into New England Tuesday and despite clouds and rain showers temperatures will climb into the upper 40s to mid 50s in our region.
Generally fair and chilly weather will return to Maine Wednesday as the storm lifts up into Canada and high pressure approaches from the west. Once again a gusty northwest breeze Wednesday will usher a slightly colder than normal airmass back into New England. A southwest breeze will develop in our area Thursday and temps will begin to moderate back to more seasonable levels. An approaching weak cold front may bring a few showers to parts of Northern New England Friday, but if the front holds off till later in the day temperatures in parts of Maine may approach 60 degrees for the first time since last November.
Today: Mostly sunny, with increasing clouds late, with high temps in the upper 40s to mid 50s.
Tuesday: Periods of rain early tapering off later in the day and rather breezy, with high temps in the mid40s to mid 50s.
Wednesday: Partly cloudy and breezy, with high temps in the 40s.
Thursday: Partly cloudy, with high temps in the mid 40s to low 50s.
Friday: Variably cloudy, with possible scattered showers and high temps in the 50s.
