MDEA agents say months of investigation led to the arrests of three suspected drug dealers in Waldo County.

In October, drug agents started looking into illegal distribution of prescription pills in the area.

During a bail check last Friday, 63-year-old Arthur Gardiner and 18-year-old Shelby Tapley, both of Swanville, were arrested and charged with unlawful possession of Oxycodone.

Both were transported to the Waldo County Jail.

Early Wednesday, 30-year-old Gary Stevens of Lynn, Massachusetts was arrested.

Agents seized $15,000 worth of pills during an undercover operation.

Stevens was taken to the Two Bridges Jail in Wiscasset.

Agents were assisted by Belfast Police Department, Waldo and Sagadahoc Sheriff’s Deputies, and the Maine State Police.
