Bangor bikers want to make the city a safer place to cycle.
Locals gathered to discuss that at a meeting downtown Thursday.
Representatives from the Bicycle Coalition of Maine and the Penquis Public Health District Community Grant Program hosted the safety forum at CoeSpace, along Columbia Street.
They talked about creating safe spaces to walk and ride, infrastructure issues, also how to advocate collectively.
Alexia Corbett, the Penquis District Grant Coordinator, said, “There are teams in the Orono area. There are teams in the Bangor area region. We are looking to get other teams started around the region that are really focused on biking, walking, built environment, and just making it a safer, more active living environment in our region.”
