A recently remodeled home caught fire in Carmel, Monday afternoon.
Firefighters were called to the scene along Swett Road, around 3:30 pm.
When they got there, smoke was billowing out of the building’s eaves.
Responders aren’t sure what sparked it but say newly installed walls helped contain the flames.
Leroy Hall, Carmel’s Assistant Fire Chief, said, “You know, it is all sheet rock and everything else, compared to the one we had last week which was old construction and went throughout the building very quickly.”
Investigators are still trying to determine a cause.
No word yet on the extent of the damage.
Mutual aid was called in from Hermon, Etna, Stetson, and Dixmont.
