Home Invasion Suspects Caught, Charges Pending

Three people are facing charges after a reported home invasion in Somerset County early Sunday morning.

The Sheriff’s Department says a woman who lives on Ripley Road told police two masked men came in through an unlocked door, assaulted her, stole prescription medications, then took off in a vehicle driven by a female who was waiting for them.

Police say that car was stopped a short time later.

24 year old Ryan Spaulding of Waterville and 28 year old Joshua Chase of Detroit are charged with assault. 25 year old Melinda Riggs of Hartland is facing a probation violation.

Police say they searched the car and found pills and drug paraphernalia, additional charges are expected.

The woman in the home was taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
