Supreme Court Upholds Rockland Man’s Murder Sentence

The state’s highest court upheld both the conviction and sentence for a Rockland man, found guilty of killing his girlfriend, Thursday.

A Knox County Jury found 38-year-old Arnold Diana guilty of murder in July of 2012.

Diana strangled his 47-year-old girlfriend, Katrina Windred, at his Thorndike apartment in 2010, while her young son waited for her in a car.

The supreme court rejected his attorney’s appeal, saying the judge erred in allowing certain evidence, a victim of domestic violence to serve on the jury, and refusing to throw out certain expert testimony.

Diana will serve 45 years in prison.
