TURNER, Maine (AP) — An autopsy is scheduled on the body of a 16-year-old Turner boy killed last weekend in a hit-and-run.
Investigators say they hope the autopsy scheduled for Tuesday can shed light on what happened to Xavier Fuentes.
Meanwhile, police continue to look for the vehicle that struck him as he walked along Route 117 in Paris on Saturday night.
Police tell the Portland Press Herald, that Xavier was facing oncoming traffic, as pedestrians are supposed to do, but he was wearing dark clothes and might have been hard to see. There is also not much room on the unlit rural road because of guard rails and snowbanks.
Police think the teen was struck by a vehicle large enough for a snowplow, although it did not necessarily have a plow.
