Sunny & Cold Today, A Bit Milder Tuesday

From the TV 5 Forecast Center:

High pressure centered to our west/northwest will gradually slide towards then through New England over the next few days. This will keep our weather nice and quiet through Wednesday. We’ll see a chance for some light snow and mixed precipitation Wednesday night into Thursday. Temperatures will be very cold for the start of the week but warm a bit as the week progresses.

We’ll see plenty of sunshine today with well below average temperatures. Temperatures will range from the mid-teens to low 20s for highs this afternoon from north to south across the state. Skies will be clear tonight and we’re in for another frigid night with lows bottoming out a couple degrees either side of 0°. Sunshine will prevail again on Tuesday and temperatures are expected to be a bit milder with highs in the mid-20s to around 30°.

High pressure will slide east of the region on Wednesday allowing clouds ahead of our next storm system to start moving into the state. Precipitation is expected to move in Wednesday night and early Thursday as low pressure passes to our north. The storm’s northerly track will allow some milder air to move into parts of the state which will cause varying types of precipitation with light snow for the northern half of the state and light mixed precipitation elsewhere. Drier weather will return for the day on Friday. We could see another chance for some snow as we get into the upcoming weekend.
