From the TV 5 Forecast Center:

We’ll continue to see mostly sunny skies early this afternoon followed by increasing clouds mid-late afternoon as a weak area of low pressure approaches the region. We may see a few snow showers move into northern and northwestern parts of the state this afternoon otherwise most areas will be dry for the daylight hours. Temperatures will be a bit warmer today with highs climbing into the 20s to around 30°. Low pressure will continue to push towards the state tonight bringing us some scattered snow showers and even some steadier light snow. The steadier snow will fall mainly from Greenville to Millinocket northward with light accumulations of 1”-3” possible, the highest accumulations will fall over Aroostook county. Temperatures will hold steady in the 20s to near 30° tonight then gradually climb into the mid-20s to low 30s.

The weak area of low pressure is forecast to move through the state on Saturday. We’ll see some areas of light snow over the northern half of the state with light mixed precipitation elsewhere during the morning hours then tapering to scattered rain and snow showers during the afternoon. Temperatures will be milder Saturday with highs in the mid-30s to low 40s. A cold front will cross the state late Saturday, allowing colder air to come back to the region for the second half of the weekend. Temperatures will be in the teens and 20s on Sunday under partly to mostly sunny skies. High pressure will keep things sunny and cold into early next week.
