An acting superintendent has been named at Riverview Psychiatric Center in Augusta.
DHHS Commissioner Mary Mayhew announced Wednesday that Robert “Jay” Harper will lead the state’s largest mental health hospital.
Harper is a longtime leader in state government and has worked in mental health services for years.
Before joining the hospital, he served as a Patient Advocate with the Disability Rights Center, providing support to clients of Riverview.
Currently he’s a member of the Adjunct Faculty University with the mental health and human services department at UMaine in Augusta.
