Six people are under arrested in connection with a meth lab operation state police say was based in a Waterville motel room.
Part of the Fireside Inn and Suites on Main Street has been evacuated as drug agents investigate and then clean up the highly flammable and explosive chemicals.
Besides the motel, police also arrested people at two apartments on Center Street in Oakland.
We’re told a vehicle in Skowhegan was seized as part of the investigation, too.
Police say 35-year-old Joe Finnemore of Linneus headed up the operation. He faces the most serious charges of trafficking and manufacturing methamphetamine.
Police also arrested 27-year-old Christopher Mceachern, 22 year-old Corey Stevens, 43-year-old James Bell, 48 year-old Katherine Tibbetts and 26-year-old Rachel Wolfe.
They’re all from Oakland.
All of the suspects are in the Kennebec County Jail.
Drug agents say they expect to be at the motel, collecting evidence most of the day.
