An Oakland man serving in the U.S. Air Force has received a high military honor.

Tech Sergeant Matthew Bolduc was awarded the Bronze Star at a ceremony in Italy where he’s currently stationed.

He served as a Counterintelligence Special Agent in Afghanistan until last October. Air Force officials say he saved countless lives and neutralized more than 80 enemy threats.

Bolduc graduated from Messalonskee High School in 2001.

He’s married with two children and his family still lives in Oakland.

He’s scheduled to enter officer training school in September.
