Fire destroyed a barn in Madison overnight Thursday, but fire crews were able to save an attached house.

Fire fighters from five towns responded to Tupper Road around 9 p.m.

We’re told a few animals died in the barn fire. The homeowners were able to make it out safely.

Crews cleared the scene around 1:30 a.m. Friday, but then were called back out again two hours later for a flare up.

The Fire Marshal’s office has been called in to investigate a cause. We’re told the fire does not appear to be suspicious.
