Stolen Car Involved in Accident, Bangor Police Looking For Driver

Wayne Harvey

The Bangor Police Department is looking for a man involved in a stolen car chase and accident that happened Thursday morning.

A little before 6:30 a report came in from the Holiday Inn on Odlin Road of a vehicle stolen from their parking lot.

That vehicle was found westbound on I-395 after it hit another vehicle and caused a crash near the Farm Road Exit.

The driver of the car, described as a white man, with a tall, thin build, and wearing a red or “orange-ish” puffy jacket flagged down a dark colored, possibly gray, car.

He reportedly got in and that vehicle left 395 on the Farm Road Exit, and from there it’s not known where the car went.

The driver of the other car involved in the accident was taken to the hospital with injuries.

The stolen car is a 2005 black Pontiac GTO, and according to police was damaged extensively in the accident.
