The babysitter of a 5-month-old boy has been arrested in the child’s death.

Bangor Police have charged Samuel Moore, 25, of Bangor with manslaughter.

Wednesday police say Korbyn Antworth passed away at Eastern Maine Medical Center a day after being transported there from a residence on the Griffin Road in Bangor.

Bangor Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division has been investigating this case.

Thursday afternoon detectives arrested Moore. They say Moore was employed as a caregiver for the deceased.  He is currently being held at the Penobscot County Jail.

Thursday morning the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy and the cause of death is pending.

Bangor Police Sgt. Cathy Rumsey says, “The detectives will continue working on the investigation, speaking with family, etc. There’s a possibility of additional charges being filed but that will be pending a grand jury indictment at the end of the month.”

Bangor Police CID say they will be working with the Maine Attorney General’s Office as this case proceeds.
