From the TV 5 Forecast Center:
We have a carbon copy of Wednesday’s forecast on tap for today. Skies will be variably cloudy this afternoon as another weak disturbance approaches from the Great Lakes region and moves through the state during the afternoon and evening hours. As the disturbance moves through, we’ll see more snow showers developing with accumulations of a dusting to 1” possible in spots by later in the evening. Temperatures today will top off in the mid-teens to low 20s for highs. Snow showers will wind down early tonight followed by clearing late. Lows won’t be quite as cold as they have the past few nights with temperatures tonight dropping to between -3° north to around +10° along the coast.
Sunshine returns to our forecast Friday as high pressure builds into the area with temperatures in the mid-teens to low 20s for highs. Snow showers will be possible again on Saturday as weak low pressure moves across southern Quebec and pulls a cold front across New England during the afternoon and evening hours. Colder air will move in behind the cold front for Sunday and Monday. We’ll be keeping an eye on the potential for snow on Monday with a storm forecast to move off the Mid-Atlantic coastline. At this point, it looks like it will be more of a central and southern New England snowstorm but if the track continues to move northward then we could see some accumulating snow here in Maine as well. We’ll keep you posted as we get closer.
