MDI Search & Rescue Saves Boy Scouts

Three boy scouts and their two leaders had to be rescued Saturday night in Eddington.

The Maine Warden Service says the group mistakenly went off the trail on a hike between Camp Roosevelt and Black Cap Mountain…

The scouts and leaders got stranded to a point where they could not go up or down.

It all began around 7:30 Saturday night, when the scout leaders went looking for the boys after they didn’t return from a hike.

They found them but also became stranded. that’s when the group called 9-1-1

Professional climbers lowered the scouts to safety.

No one needed medical treatment for anything except being cold.
