With the Winter season winding down, people are enjoying the last of ice fishing, and some for a good cause.
The 16th annual Gene and Lucille Letourneau fishing derby was held on Sunday.
The event is held every year in memory of the couple who loved the outdoors and supporting Meals on Wheels.
Meals on Wheels is a program that donates nearly 200,000 meals a year to homebound and disabled adults.
The derby is a great excuse to enjoy being outside, while helping to support others.
“People have a chance to get out in the outdoors together as a family as we really want to promote family activities in the outdoors, healthy, fresh air, and at the same time have a chance for people to support and raise money for the Meals on Wheels program,” said Diane Woodworth, Director of Development.
Organizers of the ice derby say the events gets bigger and bigger each year.
