8th Graders Save Up For Class Trip

Students from a local school raffled off a diamond necklace on Saturday.

The eighth graders from Indian Island School held the raffle as a fundraiser for their end of the year class trip.

They have also sold popcorn and collected bottles to raise money.

So far they have collected about $5,000, and have a choice of destinations they would like to go to.

“Our first choice, if we raise enough would be Hawaii, but that’s if we raise as much as we need to. And then we just have like small choices like New York or Washington,” said eighth grader Tia LeBretton.

if you would like to donate bottles toward the class trip you can drop them off at Skeeters Redemption Center in Old Town.
