From the TV 5 Forecast Center:

Low pressure is forecast to pass to our west today. Precipitation has been fairly light thus far and will be scattered about the state through the early-mid afternoon hours. Expect scattered snow showers and mixed precipitation over the northern half of the state with scattered rain showers elsewhere. Precipitation will become steadier later this afternoon and evening as a cold front approaches and eventually moves through the state. Roads could still be slippery this afternoon and evening mainly over northern areas where precipitation will be falling as snow and/or a mix of sleet and freezing rain. Highs today are expected to top off in the 30s to around 40° this afternoon. Precipitation will move out during the night tonight as the cold front moves to our east which will then be followed by drier weather for the weekend. Temperatures will drop back to near or a bit below 32° so we could see any lingering moisture on the roads refreezing so be careful if you have travel plans tonight.

Temperatures will remain mild to start the weekend with highs in the upper 30s to mid-40s Saturday under a mix of sun and clouds. A cold front is forecast to move through the state late Saturday and Saturday night beginning the return to much colder weather for next week. We’ll see a mix of sun and clouds on Sunday also with temperatures cooler than Saturday but still a bit above average with highs in the 30s. Temperatures will continue to cool off early next week.

Rest of Today: scattered snow showers and/or mixed precipitation north, scattered rain showers elsewhere becoming steadier later in the afternoon and evening. Highs between 31°-40°. East/southeast wind 5-15 MPH.

Saturday: mix of sun and clouds. Highs between 39°-46°. Southwest wind 5-10 MPH.

Sunday: mix of sun and clouds. A bit cooler with highs mainly in the 30s.
