From the WABI-TV5 & CW Forecast Center:

A storm moving along a cold front will bring a period of rain and mixed precipitation to our region this evening. From the Lincoln area on south and east most of the precipitation this evening will fall in the form of rain, but from the Dover-Foxcroft region on north and west precipitation will continue to fall as a combination of sleet, freezing rain, rain and a little snow, which will cause roads to remain a bit slippery. Skies will partially clear late tonight as the cold front slips off to our east and a drier airmass begins to filter into our region. The temps will fall below freezing across most of Maine late tonight and patchy black ice will likely form on the roadways.

Saturday will turn out partly sunny and somewhat milder than normal as high temps reach the mid 30s to low 40s across our region. A secondary cold front will bring a few flurries or snow showers to parts of Northern New England Sunday as it crosses the Northeast.  A cooler airmass will begin to filter back into New England as the cold front slowly slides offshore Sunday and a northwest breeze picks up. A series of cold fronts crossing the Northeast during the early to middle part of the workweek will usher progressively colder air the Northeast.

Energy in the upper levels of the atmosphere dropping out of central Canada will likely cause a new storm to form along the Southeast U.S. Coastline later Tuesday or Wednesday. At this point in time it is too early to tell if the storm will pass out to sea well southeast of New England thus producing little more than some clouds in our region or will it move up the Northeast Coastline and produce some steadier snowfall over Eastern New England.

Tonight: Evening rain and mixed precipitation ending, with partial clearing late and low temps in the mid 20s to low 30s.

Saturday: Partly sunny and mild, with high temps in the mid 30s to low 40s.

Saturday night: Partly cloudy, with low temps in the teens to low 20s.

Sunday: Partly cloudy, with a few flurries possible and colder, with high temperatures in the upper 20s north to 30s south.

Monday: Variably cloudy, few scattered snow showers possible and high temps in the 20s.

Tuesday: Partly sunny, breezy and cold, with high temps in the mid teens to mid 20s.

Wednesday: Partly to mostly cloudy and cold, with possible snow later in the day and high temps in the mid teens to mid 20s.
