Snow Developing This Afternoon & Evening, More Snow Possible Wednesday PM

From the TV 5 Forecast Center:

We’re tracking a weak area of low pressure that is forecast to develop over southern New England today then pass just to the south of Maine during the night tonight. Clouds will continue to thicken with snow developing from west to east across the state during the afternoon and evening making for some slippery roads for the evening commute. Temperatures will be more seasonable with highs topping off in the mid-20s to around 30° this afternoon. Snow will continue falling tonight, winding down from west to east shortly after midnight. By the time the snow ends, snowfall accumulations will range from 4”-8” from the Midcoast to Augusta points south; 3”-6” north of there to a line from Princeton to Dover-Foxcroft to Rangeley; 1”-3” north of that line up to northern Aroostook County, northern Piscataquis County and Northern Somerset county where amounts will be 1” or less.

We’ll have a break in the action Wednesday morning with a little morning sunshine possible then clouds will take over again and we’ll have another weak disturbance passing through the area during the afternoon and evening hours. Temperatures will be milder Wednesday with highs in the 30s to near 40°. We’ll see snow developing during the afternoon and evening with mixed rain/snow possible closer to the coast where temperatures will be in the mid and upper 30s. Snow and mix with taper off later Wednesday night. Another light to moderate snowfall is possible for many areas.
