UMaine Students Show Off “Virtual Reality”

University of Maine graduates are landing jobs at companies like Google, EA, and Rockstar games, thanks, in part, to experience with an emerging technology.

Students there are developing a special skill-set, in a learning environment they’re creating, with a computer.

UMaine’s Virtual Environments and Multimodal Interaction Lab was open to the public Wednesday.

It’s a space where complicated concepts like data analysis and spacial awareness are made easier and more interesting through virtual and augmented realities.
