Maine’s U.S. Congress Members Meet With Mill Officials in D.C.

Three of Maine’s four U.S. Congress members gathered together in Washington D.C. Wednesday.

Senators Collins and King along with Representative Michaud held a meeting with the leaders of Cate Street and Great Northern Paper.

According to a statement from the three, there is a plan to restart the East Millinocket mill, and having some workers back on the job by May 1st.

Collins, King, and Michaud said, they plan to do all they can to provide federal support to the laid off workers and their families and will stay in touch with the mill leaders as they implement their plan to bring the mill back online.
