The Maine State Fire Marshal’s Office says two bodies have been recovered from the rubble of a house that burned in Sumner last night.
Investigators say the bodies are likely those of 52 year old Robert Keach and his 60 year old sister Della Keach.
The fire was reported at 10:30 last night by a neighbor who heard an explosion.
The blaze destroyed the home on Barrows Road where the two have reportedly lived for decades.
Officials say the cold and lack of water made it tough to fight the fire.
The home was primarily heated with wood.
Investigators say they’ve found no sign of working smoke detectors.
The fire marshal’s office says the damage is so extensive, it might not be able to find a cause.
So far six people have died in fires in Maine this year.
