They’re called Easton and Sebec.
Officials with the Maine Potato Board say they were developed in partnership with the University of Maine.
They are the first varieties to be released by Umaine in the last decade and the first developed in conjunction with the Maine Potato Board.
Officials say the Easton is a french fry processing potato, the Sebec is for potato-chip production.
Both of them can also be boiled, mashed or baked.
