Students at UMaine in Orono are on hour five of their 12 hour dance marathon, FTK, or in other words, “For The Kids!”
It’s called BearFest Dance Marathon. Students from all walks of campus life are coming together tonight to raise money for Children’s Miracle Network.
This is the third year students have danced all night to raise money. Last year they raised more than $47,000 for sick children in Maine communities.
“It’s just a great chance for students at Umaine to give back to families in our own local community that need our help and it’s a great way to have fun with your friends and it’s all for a great cause,” said student organizer, Theo Koboski.
The college students won’t stop dancing until 6:00am Sunday morning.
Dance Marathons benefiting pediatric hospitals are held at universities around the nation.
