A man from Unity has pleaded not guilty in connection with a deadly crash in Thorndike.
Charges against 28-year-old Alvaro Soares include manslaughter, OUI and reckless conduct.
He was the driver in a crash on the Fourth of July that killed 23-year-old Oscar Tizon Brito and injured 22-year-old Kelly Soares, both from Rhode Island.
Deputies say a blood test on Soares taken four hours after the crash came back with a blood alcohol content of .07, slightly below the legal limit.
Soares remains out on bail.
