A baby seriously injured and blinded after allegedly being shaken by her father has been released from the hospital.
21-year old Kevin Peaslee is charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one charge of assault in connection with a Dec. 21st incident.
Police say, the 6-month-old girl has severe brain damage and is blind as a result.
She was listed in grave condition at Maine Medical Center Friday, but was released Monday, according to a hospital official.
The baby is now a ward of the state.
Peaslee was bailed out of the jail Wednesday morning.
His attorney argues Peaslee has no criminal record, and is suffering from mental illness.
