Three Men Waiting Sentencing in $9 Million Pot Farm Case

Three men are now waiting to be sentenced after being found guilty of drug charges in connection with a $9 million pot farm in Washington County.

52-year-old Malcolm French of Enfield, 50-year-old Rodney Russell of South Thomaston and 57-year-old Kendall Chase of Bradford were convicted Friday after a two-week trial in federal court in Bangor.

Haynes Timberland Company, which French owns part of, was also found guilty.

French and Russell were convicted of harboring illegal aliens, too.

Authorities found nearly 3,000 pot plants in Township 37 in September of 2009.

All three men face up to life in prison and $10 million fines.

Haynes Timberland could also have to forfeit some property.
