VT Caseworker Sentenced for Sex Crime Against Bangor Girl

A Vermont caseworker is going to prison for the next year-and-a-half for a sex crime involving a young girl in Maine.

26-year-old Jeffrey Parfitt was sentenced Friday for unlawful sexual contact.

He pleaded guilty in November.

Prosecutors say Parfitt went to a home in Bangor last year to follow-up with a girl, younger than 12, about her current living situation.

Parfitt performed an unnecessary and inappropriate exam on her after asking the girl’s dad to leave the room for privacy.

Parfitt was also ordered to serve three years probation.
