LifeFlight Responds to Car Accident in Fairfield 

One man was taken to the hospital after a car accident in Fairfield Tuesday night.

State Police say it happened along the interstate around 8 pm.

Witnesses told police the driver was swerving all over the road and lost control near exit 133.

Responders say the man had to be cut free after his Jeep Cherokee rolled over, taking out a utility pole and exit sign.

The car was totaled.

He was taken by LifeFlight to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.

His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

State Police say alcohol may have played a role in the accident.
