Some Pieces of Bangor’s History are Up for Grabs

Updated 6 months ago

The Bangor Public Library is auctioning off copper pieces from the original roof.

Instead of scrapping the metal, they wanted to give the public a chance to have it.

There will be large and small pieces.

Maine Jewelery and Art will have items, like earrings, they’ve made from the copper on the auction block.

Organizers expect to hit a range of prices.

Funds raised will benefit the library.

“Once we started the construction and we got to see the beautiful pieces that were coming off the roof, we knew that it was just going to be a great opportunity to give back to the community and let them own a piece of history,” said Lisa Frazell, Dir. of Marketing, Bangor Public Library.

The live and silent auction is happening on Tuesday from 5 pm to 7 pm.

It’s free and open to the public.

There will be a live band, wine, and snacks.
