Environmental Advocates Release Their Plan to Help Build Maine’s Natural Resource Economy

Updated 10 months ago

The group is calling on lawmakers to pass six pieces of legislation they say are critical to Maine’s natural resource based industries.

Among those bills are a measure that strengthens the department of environmental protection and another bill that protect Maine water from metallic mineral mining pollution.

Another bill establishes solar power as a priority for Maine.

“I do a lot of consulting outside of the state of Maine and I see what goes on outside of the state of Maine. States like Massachusetts, New York, Vermont, and New Hampshire are investing significantly in their solar industries because they know in addition to the benefits I mentioned it creates local economic development,” said Vaughn Woodruff, Solar Power Installer.
