Two years probation and a $4,000 fine.

That’s the sentence for a former pharmacy technician from Winslow who admitted last year to stealing prescription drugs from the Togus VA Hospital in Augusta.

Rebecca Hamlin, 61, appeared in federal court in Bangor Wednesday.

Court documents say Hamlin was working at Togus last January when a co-worker spotted her putting an empty pharmacy bottle in her purse.

A supervisor later noticed pills from the VA in a bag under Hamlin’s desk.
