Updated 9 months ago

State Police are asking for the public’s help with an investigation into the stabbing of a woman Monday night.

An unnamed 33-year-old woman from Readfield was driving along the McCrillis Corner Rd. near the Wilton-Chesterville town line when her black 2006 Suzuki broke down.

The woman told troopers that a man driving a white Chevrolet pickup stopped to offer help and assaulted her.

The man is described as 5’10” with a slender build, a goatee, and wearing a mad bomber hat.

State and Wilton police are asking for anyone who was in that area between 7:00 pm and 9:15 pm Monday night to call the Augusta State Police at 624-7076 or the Wilton P.D. at 645-4222.
